This website is provided and maintained by Trilokanatha Das and Kundalata Dasi who are disciples of
His Divine Grace Param Pujyapāda Śrīla Bhakti Rakṣaka Śrīdhara Deva Goswāmī Mahārāja
to publish his works and items about him.
Śrīla Śrīdhara Mahārāja was a great acharya (guru who teaches by example) in the Gaudiya Vaishnava Sampradaya and is the Founder Acharya of the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math. He has provided much inspiration to thousands, both in India and around the globe,
by spreading the message of Divine Love of God introduced by Chaitanya Mahāprabu.
He was a prominent disciple of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Saraswatī Ṭhākura Goswāmī Prabhupāda who
established the Gaudiya Math in India. The mission initiated by Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura and
developed by Bhaktisiddhānta Saraswatī Ṭhākura emerged as "the most powerful reformist movement"
of Vaishnavism in Bengal of the 19th and early 20th century.
Śrīla Śrīdhara Mahārāja's scriptural genius, penetrating realizations and strict practice of the
devotional principles of Gaudiya Vaishnavism were soon recognized by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Saraswatī Ṭhākura Goswāmī,
who in 1930 awarded him the renounced order of sannyāsa. He was named "Bhakti Rakṣaka Śrīdhara"
meaning "guardian of devotion".
Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Saraswatī saw him as especially fit to protect the Gaudiya Vaishnava
line from misrepresentation. After reading one of his Sanskrit compositions glorifying
Srila Bhaktivinode Ṭhākura, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Saraswatī remarked, "Now I am satisfied
that, after I leave, there will be at least one man who can represent my conclusions".
